
The quarterfinal match up between the North Caddo Lady Rebels and the Amite Lady Warriors proved to be a very spirited hard fought battle. However, in the end; the cream rose to the top.
North Caddo, the defending state champions pummeled the Amite Lady Warriors 63-53. With the victory, the Lady Rebs advance to the final 4 which will be played next week at the Rapids Coliseum in Alexandria, Louisiana.
North Caddo will play Red River in the semi finals. The winner will advance to the state championship game on Saturday March 2nd.
The Lady Rebs were led by Destiny Rice and Jadah Martin
The Lady Rebels were led by Destiny Rice in Thursday’s quarter final triumph. Rice led all scorers with 28 points. Jadah Martin added 15 for the Lady Rebels who improved to 31-4.
Even though their shooting percentage was lower than the previous two playoff games, the defense remained stifling, forcing turnovers and missed shots. Amite fought a valiant fight, but North Caddo lives on in their quest for back to back state championships.
Lady Rebs Head Coach Brian Shyne was proud of his girls intensity and he was not surprised that Amite never gave up.
North Caddo ‘s next game in the semi finals and the championship if necessary on Saturday March 2nd will be broadcasted live on K-104.1 FM and 1320 AM KNCB radio in Vivian, La., and streamed on line at K104.net.
