North Caddo moves to 4-1 after shutting out the Plain Dealing Lions tonight on the road.
On a wet field with scattered showers North Caddo put up 44 points on the board while the Lions went scoreless.
North Caddo is getting accustomed to putting lots of points on the board against their opponents from big offensive plays; however, tonight the big play came from the defense when Zion King returned an interception 39 yards for the pick six.
The only highlight for the Lions was the fact they only allowed the North Caddo offense in the end zone once in the first quarter. It looked like fans were about to witness a close game, the first quarter ending 6-0 North Caddo, however, the North Caddo offense would score two TD’s and the defense 1 along with a safety in the second quarter. At the half North Caddo led the Lions 38-0.
At the start of the second half Zion King took over QB responsibilities for Juvontavious Hodge. King would lead North Caddo down the field for third quarter TD. With 2:00 to go in the third Rashad Matthews scored on a 6 yard run giving North Caddo a 44-0 lead.
This week was the second time North Caddo enforced the mercy rule on their opponents. North Caddo showed everyone tonight that they do it live by the big play alone but are able to ground and pound all night against defenses.
North Caddo returns home next week to face the 3 A powerhouse Mansfield. Mark your calendar and come out and see some of the most electrifying high school football around.
