ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) — Adolis Garcia and Willie Calhoun homered as the Texas Rangers ended a six-game losing streak with a 5-2 win over the New York Yankees. Texas denied Gerrit Cole’s bid to become the American League’s first six-game winner. Cole allowed season highs of five runs and seven hits. He struck out seven, but also issued two free passes after walking none his previous five starts. It ended his big league record of 61 consecutive strikeouts between walks. Texas right-hander Jordan Lyles fanned six in six innings to win for the first time in his last eight starts. Ian Kennedy worked the ninth for his AL-leading 11th save.
