Stewart had 23 as State led throughout in an 84-62 victory over Louisiana Tech in a semifinal. The two guards combined for nine 3-pointers. Mississippi State scored the game’s first 11 points in the matchup of No. 4-seeded Bulldogs. Big freshman Kenneth Lofton Jr. had 20 points and 10 rebounds for Louisiana Tech. Kalob Ledoux had 11 points and Jacolby Pemberton 10. Mississippi State plays Memphis for the NIT title on Sunday. Louisiana Tech takes on Colorado State in the consolation game.
