ARLINGTON, Texas — The Texas Rangers acquired right-handed pitcher Grant Anderson from the Seattle Mariners in exchange for right-handed pitcher Connor Sadzeck.
Anderson will not go on the club’s 40-man roster and has been assigned to the Hickory Crawdads of the South Atlantic League in Low-A ball.

Seattle selected the 21-year-old in the 21st round of the 2018 June draft. The McNeese State product combined to go 2-1 with a 1.38 ERA (2 ER/13.0 IP), 0.846 WHIP, and 13 strikeouts over 12 reliefs with the Arizona League Mariners’ Low-A Everett and A-level Clinton affiliates in his first pro season.
The Rangers designated Sadzeck for assignment on March 28 to set its Opening Day roster. Texas took Anderson in the 11th round of the 2011 June draft, and he has spent his whole career with Texas, including 13 appearances in his first major league action last September.
